While Sqwok is a public conversation service, we take data collection practices and user privacy seriously.
We collect general api usage information including who you are, where you are connecting from, and how you browse our network, for internal use to increase the quality of our service.
We do not sell or disclose any personal information to third parties and we do not collect tracking data through our client-facing apps.
Users may download a copy of their data including User Profile information, Posts, and Messages at any time through the user settings page (coming soon).
When a user deletes their account, we completely wipe all information including Posts, Messages, and the User Profile associated with that user.

Sqwok is a public chat website and where activty such as posting and chatting are viewable to anyone on the internet.
You don’t have to create an account to use some of our service features, such as searching and viewing public Sqwok Posts and Profiles. If you do choose to create an account, you must provide us with some personal data so that we can provide our services to you. On Sqwok this includes a username (for example, @acmenews), a password, and optionally an email address. Your username is always public, but you can use either your real name or a pseudonym.

Most activity on Sqwok is public, including your profile information, your time zone and language, when you created your account, and your Posts and certain information about your Posts like the date, time, and version of Sqwok you Posted from. The lists you create, chat messages you send, and people who follow you are also public. Information posted about you by other people who use our services may also be public.

You are responsible for your Posts, Messages, and other information you provide through our services, and you should think carefully about what you make public, especially if it is sensitive information. If you update your public information on Sqwok, such as by deleting a Post, Message, or deactivating your account, we will reflect your updated content on Sqwok.im.
